Introduction

The easypresto Document Ordering Center delivers copies in PDF format or, with a surcharge, copies on paper, of articles cited in databases or in literature. The PDF files will be supplied in colour without any extra charge if they were created from the USB eLibrary holdings. The copies of the documents come directly from the holdings of the USB (University Hospital Library) eLibrary or will be ordered from other libraries in Switzerland or abroad. Our products Basic and Urgent include location of the library holding the cited article. If the product cannot be delivered or a delay is expected we will contact you (no charge will be made); otherwise orders are not acknowledged.

University of Bern / Inselspital customers must first register via their administrator.

The advantages of the new online document ordering system are:

You no longer need to fill in your details each time - the system fills these in for you.
You can track the progress of your orders in real-time (users can only access their own orders).
A receipt with a unique order identity is supplied when your order is accepted. If you need to contact us about your order the order ID helps to locate the order quickly.
The order system Import File option accepts import of a limited number of file formats to save you manually filling in a form for each article.
You can order also articles by DOI (Digital Object Identifier), PubMed ID or by searching in PubMed from within easypresto.
You can set and change default order options (e.g. E-mail/PDF/Basic/Order from abroad) as required.
An Order Assistant is provided to help filling in the Order Form - you can copy a single citation into the order window and with luck the order form will be filled in for you.
Better availability - exceeds 99.9%. A combination of a relational database and modern scripting language provides a stable and efficient platform for document delivery.
All orders are encryption using 128-bit key (SSL or Secure Socket Layer) [Note that old browsers may only support encryption with a 40-bit or 56-bit key].
The identity of our web site is guaranteed with a site certificate from an authorised signing authority.
easypresto supports importation of orders from other systems such as SFX and Scopus using the OpenUrl standard. Contact us for more information.

Ordering via NLM PubMed

Access PubMed, the public MEDLINE Database of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and order copies of the found documents.

The USB eLibrary is the official Loansome Doc partner of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) for Switzerland. The Library Identifier (LIBID) of the USB eLibrary as your authorized library is: CHXAJD. You need to register once at the NLM before you can order documents.

The prices charged for ordering via e-mail or web form are identical.

Ordering via E-mail

Order your copies by sending the citation(s) or references in any text format (no scanned image, PDF or graphic formats please) to one of the following e-mail addresses:

Basic	basic@easypresto.org delivery within 2-4 working days
Urgent	urgent@easypresto.org delivery within 1-2 working days

* page charge for documents exceeding 20 pages CHF 8.00 per additional 20 pages; copies on paper with a surcharge of CHF 4.00.

Please also indicate which type of delivery is preferred:

Paper (surcharge CHF 4.00; delivered by first class post)

Specify Global if you wish the article to be ordered from a library abroad when necessary without confirmation.

For inquiries or complaints please use the e-mail addresses under Notes to avoid your e-mail being treated as a new order!

We accept multiple (citations) orders in one E-mail. Please ensure that your mailbox can receive mails of at least 4 megabytes before requesting PDF delivery.

Prices and Invoicing from March 1st 2008

The easypresto Document Ordering Center has a new and simplified price structure for orders received on or after the 1st of March 2008. This is the first change in the base price since 1st January 2003.

All prices are in CHF. Billing is monthly. A summary invoice with a payment slip is sent by post; a detailed breakdown of your orders is sent by e-mail. Organisations may request individual billing per orderer or one invoice for the organisation or location. If the product cannot be delivered no charge will be made.

Inquiries regarding invoicing should be sent by e-mail to billing@easypresto.org.

Delivered articles are protected by copyright. You may use the articles for your own use as defined by article 19 of the swiss federal copyright law, see "SR 231.1 Bundesgesetz über das Urheberrecht und verwandte Schutzrechte". Reproduction and or distribution outside of the scope of article 19 of the swiss federal copyright law is not permitted. Copies may also be subject to licensing restrictions from our suppliers or the publisher.

Working days are Monday through Friday excluding public holidays in Canton Bern.

When PDF copies are not deliverable (quality, supplier, customer mailbox problems or legal reasons) we reserve the right to deliver paper copies instead without any extra charge. Other formats such as tiff, postscript etc. are not available. Please ensure that your mailbox can receive mails of at least 4 megabytes.

Delivery of documents is restricted to addresses in Switzerland.

Delivery may be delayed if the copies have to be obtained from another library.

Changes to your postal address, name or e-mail address: Please remember to inform us at backoffice@easypresto.ch. Please also inform us if you have a new employer or your company changes it's name or address. Note that if you are registered with the NLM you need to change the details there in addition.
